Cinque Terre - Italy

 Do outro lado do Atlântico
O céu e o mar são o mesmo
E rezo uma pequena oração
Para a minha terra
Meu pampa distante
Penso na vida que corre
E discorro aqui
Envelheço e vivo
Sem grandes dores, nem pesar
Mas pura saudades
Desaguando em oceano
Envio abraços voadores
para atravessar a distância
Para a minha ânsia
Coração-passarinho
Voo de abraço em braço
E desatino no aconchego
das palavras
que também são aladas
Se parti em viagem
Volto um dia desses
por puro amor.

The sky and the sea are the same
And I pray a little prayer
To my land
My distant home
I think in life that runs
And I still singing here
Getting older and live
Without great pain or grief
But pure longing
Flowing into into ocean
Sending flying hugs
to traverse the distance
To my craving
Heart-finch
Flight from hug to hug
And fall in coziness
of words
which are also winged
And If  I left on the road
I'll be back someday
By pure love.

     Existe um tipo de poema muito conhecido na Irlanda chamado de "Limerick", exatamente igual ao nome da cidade. O Limerick é um estilo de poema irreverente, geralmente bem humorado de cinco linhas, com um esquema de rimas AABBA, e com muito ritmo. O nome do ritmo é o anapesto e a ideia é que lembra o galope de um cavalo. Também pode ser uma pequena história com uma moral no final. Encontrei este vídeo que explica como fazer um Limerick:

     Os Limericks não tem uma origem exata, mas as primeiras referências datam de 1800. Os poemas foram popularizados por Edward Lear no livro "Book of nonsense" em 1845, no qual ele escreveu cerca de 200 poemas com e sem sentido. E eu encontrei o audiobook completo e com as ilustrações no youtube:

     Claro que tentei escrever um Limerick também e tentei "traduzir" para o português mas certamente ficou mais bonito e rítmico em inglês.

  Limerick Poems

     There is a kind of very well known poem in Ireland called "Limerick", just like the city name. The Limerick is a generally humorous irreverent style of poem of five lines, with a rhyme scheme AABBA, and with much rhythm. The name of the rhythm is anapesto and the idea is remember of a galloping horse. It can also be a short story with a moral at the end. I found this video that explains how to make a Limerick:

     The Limericks not have an exact origin, but the first references date back to 1800. The poems were popularized by Edward Lear in the "Book of nonsense" in 1845, in which he wrote about 200 poems in and meaningless. And I found the complete audiobook and illustrations on youtube:

     Of course I tried to write a Limerick and also tried to "translate" for the Portuguese but was certainly more beautiful and rhythmic English.
